We assisted in the release of this fantastic split between two old-school screamo bands in the vein of such greats as Pg. 99 and City of Caterpillar. This is a little different from what might be expected of us, but is no less worthy of the Murkhouse name! Antilles have a jagged and damaged sound with vicious vocals, aggressive drumming, and jangly guitar playing with a subtle, almost jazzy vibe at times. On the other side, Trifle Tower assault the listener with a blast of lo-fi angst and fury. Strong dynamics and layered melodies give off the impression of an almost black metal approach to songwriting. A sample from each side can be heard in the player on our page. Limited to 500 copies! Mastered by John Golden, who has done mastering for such bands as the Melvins, Neurosis, Weedeater, and Primus. This should appeal to fans of bands like Isis, Mare, Opeth, and even Nine Inch Nails.
